The King Carter Global Trade & Logistics Academy was made possible by a generous $1 million donation to Miami-Dade County Public Schools by an anonymous donor. The Academy pays homage to King Carter, a gregarious first grader who was caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting.

Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho was joined by King’s family, School Board Vice Chair Martin Karp, Board Member Dr. Steve Gallon III and District staff to unveil the Academy at Miami Northwestern Senior High. Miami Central Senior High also offers the academy, which will enhance career readiness opportunities for students at both schools.
