Preparing Students for Miami's Workforce

Most of Miami-Dade’s CTE programs are aligned with Opportunity Miami initiative identifying industries that impact Miami’s economy.

One Community One Goal, Miami-Dade’s economic development strategic plan identified the industries with the highest potential for job growth and high wages. The Miami-Dade Beacon Council leads the community’s efforts to expand and strengthen the target industries through collaboration with industry, government, academic and community leaders focused on marketing Miami-Dade as a world-class business location and helping to grow local companies. There are seven target industries—Aviation, Creative Design, Financial Services, Hospitality & Tourism, Technology,  Life Sciences and Health Care, and Trade & Logistics. Below is the table of the identified growth industries and how Miami-Dade County Public Schools has met the community's needs through course alignments to match the identified growth industries.
