On February 8th at the Doubletree Hotel schools in the Miami-Dade district involved their students in The Education Fund’s A Taste of Education event, which gave them the opportunity to experience the life of a chef . The students were also able to have the dishes they created judged by local chefs and volunteers. G Holmes Braddock SHS culinary team’s dish the Tiramisu Shots was titled as the best in the show. Also, the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Bites made by Miami Northwestern SHS culinary team was titled as the People’s Choice.Other winning culinary teams received prizes and participating schools receive grants for new cookware (see chart of winners below).
