ACE Mentorship partner, Shawmut Construction hosted students from William H. Turner Technical Arts High School on a work-site tour on December 13, 2017 in the Miami Design District. The Academy of Civil Engineering and Architectural Design (ACAD) students toured the Shawmut’s construction project site and the design district, then enjoyed lunch provided by Shawmut Construction.  The students were accompanied by their instructors, Mr. Mercado and Mr. Izquierdo.

The objective of the tour was also to introduce the students to a project they will be working on with their mentors. They will be proposing ideas for the usage of the first floor of the new design district building, using Autocad to draw plans with retail shops, restaurants and/or offices. Shawmut Construction will be judging the students’ presentations.
