The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), held two events in Miami this January. The first event which was the FCCLA District X Florida Proficiency Competitive and S.T.A.R. Competitive Event which was held in January 17, 2019, and took place at Johnson & Wales University. The second event, the FCCLA District X Meeting & Awards recognition took place at the Rusty Pelican on January 22, 2019. Those who attended included Family and Consumer Sciences students and FCCLA student members and Advisors from around the district.

Students from Dorothy M. Wallace C.O.P.E. Center won awards in contests that earned them a place to compete at the FCCLA State Conference in Orlando.
